We've a Got a Woodchuck

Why hello there cutie.

Where ya going?

Wait, wait . . . no . . . no . . . NOOOOOOOO!

Woodchuck in the garden.

Notice the broccoli stems bare of leaves! And my young cucumber transplants are also gone. I might try planting cucumbers again, but get prickly transplants, which I'm guessing is a deterrent (the pricklys) because my zucchini and squash has been left alone. These pictures were taken yesterday, but I watched him/her exploring the yard again today. I may have found the woodchuck's borrowing hole, the main hole being in the middle of a large clump of day lilies (the middle was bare), with spyholes nearby--or it could belong to someone else! I'll keep my eye on it.

We now provide top-notch woodchuck accommodations! Lots of open field space and tall grasses. Oh, and lots of food. So come on down.
