The smell of laundry hung out to dry.
Hanging out the laundry to dry! (Slow and meditative).
Willing the veggie garden to be fruitful.
Watching the birds, bees, and butterflies.

Long, sunny days.

Puttering around the lawn observing nature in your bare feet.
Leaving the windows open, especially at night.

Early morning coffee and reading outside.
Eating weeds.
Learning about new plants.
Trying to take a clear picture of hummingbird clearwing moths, so far no luck, but you can read about them here.
Those are just the ones I can think of at the top of my head.
What are some of your early summer pleasures?

Getting rained on is the pleasure of the summer so far this year. The ducks and geese are loving it but we are cold and wet, unfortunately not flooded as others are, and the garden is not growing.
ReplyDeleteNoooo . . . I meant FORTUNATELY not flooded . . .
ReplyDeleteI would have understood what you meant! We started out with a pretty wet summer too (and it's wet today and looking like it will be til the weekend), and perhaps your sunny days are just around the corner! It is hard to get the garden though in this kind of weather. I had to reseed a few times. The potato farmers are having a hard time this year due to all the rain. I wish you luck with the garden.
